The Fort St. John Association for Community Living (FSJACL) is seeking an innovative and inspired support worker to build on the strength of a well-established organization. The Fort St. John Association for Community Living (FSJACL) is a non-profit agency, which has been providing quality supports to adults with developmental disabilities in the Fort St. John and District since 1960. The FSJACL is a CARF accredited agency with a trained, caring, and trusted professional staff team of over 80 employees who provide quality services and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. The FSJACL works collaboratively with community partners to achieve our vision of inclusion for all.
The Community Support Worker (DX) provides individualized, person-centered support to people living independently, semi-independently or in supported homes in the community. The DX works directly with individuals in their homes and in various community settings to promote inclusion, independence, safety, and overall well-being. This role focuses on empowering individuals to achieve their goals and access meaningful opportunities in daily life, education, employment, recreation, and social connection.
Shift (DX): Rotating between days and evenings, weekdays and weekends based on individuals needs up to 37.5 hours per week – shifts can be topped up to 40 hours per week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Class 5 Driver’s license
- In-service training for Diabetes
- Transfer-of-Function for Glucose monitoring
- Seizure Management training
- Crisis Prevention Intervention
- Medication administration
This is a BCGEU unionized position, Grid Level 10. ($25.95-$29.75/ hour, based on seniority or equivalent experience.)
